What can I tell you . . .
I'm tired. This might be because I'm up before dawn every morning. It might be because in addition to being up before the sun, I start off with a Peleton ride (shameless brag). It also might be because I close the rings on my Apple watch every day and lately I've doubled the exercise expectations.
Regardless I'm tired. And I'm in bed by eight and fast asleep by ten.
Otherwise . . .
Events
Ya know what we did? We made lists. Then we gallery walked. And that was all.
Here's the video. Sadly, I tried multiple ways to embed said video into this post and none of them worked. So it's linked. Anyway, this was a pretty easy. Kids brought in their class lists and we posted them, along with any kind of artifact. Teachers selected class ambassadors, who talked about their lists. Each class visited about fifteen/ twenty minutes each. It was simple beautiful.
Onto Black History Month, which we kicked off on Friday with the step team performing in the library for what we're branding as Fine Arts Fridays.
The thing I have learned about events and entertaining the little kids is this: it's not hard. Adults make it complicated. Meanwhile the kiddoes think everything is pretty awesome. The middle schoolers picked up on this pretty fast and I think they had a good time in general.
I recorded the event on my phone and did something that made the video slow-motion about a third of the way through. Ugh, technology. Ugh me because I'm not sure what I did. Anyway, this is the kiddoes leaving. They got high fives. It was fabulous!
It's going to be a rip-roaring February, full of library shenanigans and suddenly I feel compelled to take a day off work to organize! But I'm not. This is because I don't have time.
This Week's Music
# 346 AM Arctic Monkeys: Dave Grohl once said that the hardest part of starting a band is choosing the name. Well, Arctic Monkeys might be my all-time favorite name for a band. And I enjoyed this album.
I hope you had a great week, despite the physical exhaustion, I had a blast!
